Midland, Texas — The City of Midland recently held a meeting where firefighters discussed potential solutions to address issues with their pension fund. The meeting, held at the Midland City Hall, brought together city officials and members of the fire department to explore ways to stabilize and improve the pension fund, which has faced financial challenges in recent years.

During the meeting, various proposals were presented, including changes to the contribution rates and investment strategies. The firefighters emphasized the importance of ensuring a secure retirement for those who risk their lives to protect the community.

A spokesperson for the Midland Fire Department stated, "We are committed to finding a sustainable solution for our pension fund. It's crucial that we support our firefighters and provide them with the financial security they deserve after years of dedicated service."

The discussion will continue in future meetings as both the city and the fire department work collaboratively to implement the best course of action.
